The job purpose

The Senior Wintel SME is a key role within our IT department, focusing on maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure to support both pharmaceutical and industrial applications. This position requires a deep understanding of VMWare virtualization, Windows operating systems, SQL databases, and data storage and backup solutions, with a strong emphasis on cybersecurity and compliance.

Your main responsibilities

• VMWare Virtualization: Design, implement, and manage VMWare environments, ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security.
• Windows Operating Systems: Administer Windows Server environments, implementing best practices for security and efficiency.
• SQL Database Management: Manage SQL databases, ensuring reliability, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
• Commvault Backup Solutions: Oversee Commvault backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
• NetApp Storage Systems: Manage NetApp storage solutions, focusing on scalability and security.
• Cybersecurity and Compliance: Apply cybersecurity principles, ensuring all IT systems comply with the Purdue Model and relevant industry standards.
• Firewalling Solutions: Manage and design firewall solutions, including Palo Alto and NSX, to protect network integrity.

Your skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive experience in a similar role, with a focus on VMWare, Windows OS, SQL databases, Commvault, and NetApp storage systems.
• Certifications in VMWare, Microsoft, or equivalent are preferred.
• Proficiency in English or French; Dutch is a plus.
• Strong ability to manage stress and thrive in a highly regulated environment.
• Encouraged to pursue further certifications in cybersecurity, cloud computing, and other relevant IT disciplines.
